Coalville Wheelers club rides comprise a friendly group of people, who enjoy a social ride around the beautiful country lanes of Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire or Staffordshire.
We meet regularly every Sunday at 9am (9.30am in the winter) at the Club house.
Please read the Club Ride Etiquette document, which give advice on the standard we try to ride to, so that everyone can have an enjoyable and safe ride and perhaps get a little fitter! Click here – Club Ride Etiquette
Further on road safety, Scott Porter, a freelance writer has contacted the
club to promote his Guide to Safer Cycling. “It offers information on
important cycling safety statistics as well as helpful tips and advice on
how to stay safe whilst cycling at night, during winter and in other less
than ideal situations.” It offers some helpful tips in staying sate. Have a read on:
Club house at 09.00 (9:30 – winter). The aim of the Sunday runs is that they are a social ride and we try to keep to a speed and level which is comfortable to everyone. The aim of the group is to give everyone an enjoyable morning out on their bike. We return to the club house or stop at a cafe at around 35 miles for light refreshments before returning home. Our distances aim to be between 40 and 50 miles. Depending on the size and ability of the group, we may be split into 2 groups – fast and intermediate. Some members take turns to lead the ride and determine the route and café destination.
We welcome everyone to come and join us, but would advise a reasonable level of fitness due to the distances involved. Please make sure your bike is in a road worthy standard and a helmet is highly recommended.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the first two club rides. After these, an assessment will be made as to the ability of the child to attend future rides without their parent/guardian.
If you wish to come and join us, please use the Contact Us page and select “Club Runs” from the drop down. and we will be happy to provide you with more information.
