Coalville Wheelers and Coalville Wheelers Swifts had riders competing in the weekends Round 1 of the newly formed (reinstated) Leicestershire Cyclocross League. Neil Taylor competed in the 50's and over category gaining 5th place against some quality riders. Myself and Michael Townend raced in the 40's and over with 12th and 37th. The Swifts had a good outing in the under 9's race, with a win (2nd claim) and a 22nd & 23rd for some budding first time racers. Great racing, a good social gathering, great spectator event and a great introduction to racing for the young ones, what's not to like about cross😀 ... See MoreSee Less

    Message from Steve Heggs....

Once again it's the time of the year when the days get shorter leaving less time to ride in the daylight, so why not come along to the-

Coalville Wheelers Turbo Training Night Commencing Wednesday 4th October 18.45 starting 19.00 hrs. finish approx. 20.00 hrs.

Over the years this has been well supported and now with our new club house and funded Turbo trainers there has never been a better time to try these sessions, so if you are a newcomer or an old hand that needs a little push, give it go! Open to all first and second claim members for £1.00 per session using your own turbo, or £1.50 using the clubs own. There is a structure to each session offering improvement in Power, Speed, Strength and Speed progressing over each week until next March.

Last year it was very well supported by the female members of the club so come on lads let's try and even it up!; and if you are a female that maybe is a little hesitant then please come along and you will be well supported. No accredited instructors I'm afraid, only enthusiastic club members to help and advise!

Hope to see the hard core from last year again plus some new faces, so put a reminder in your phone /diary

    Wednesday 06.45 for 19.00, finishing 20.00 hrs.

Garmin etc. with cadence and a heart rate monitor offers a distinct advantage, so if you own theses please bring them along.

Any questions please contact Steve Heggs
