Melton Olympic 10 Mile TT – 16 May 15
On a hastily rearranged course 4 Wheelers rode the Melton Olympic 10 Mile TT over the A10/1 on Saturday 16th May 2015.
Due to a clash with a Steam Rally at nearby Wymeswold the organiser was forced to move the course from the A10/11 further up the A46 onto the concrete section designated as the A10/1 for safety reasons. To add to this a strong, gusty side wind proved for difficult riding conditions and forced a number of DNS’s (did not starts) amongst the field.
First off, from the Wheelers was Neil Taylor who after a disastrous start, pulling his wheel over on the line which took around 2:15 to rectify, posted a time of 25:22. Next off was Pete Lavine who came home with a very respectable (for his age 🙂 ) 24:05. The fastest Wheeler of the afternoon, James Flahey, delivered an excellent 23:09, just pipping the final Wheeler, Ryan Ballard with a 23:14.
Fastest man of the day was Matt Sinclair from Lutterworth Cycle Centre RT in 19:39.
