Double National Champion

Alan Vallance followed up his win at the British Cycling Masters Track Championships, with a second national title at the BC Masters Criterium Championships, held at Rockingham Race Track on 21st July.

A group of nine riders formed after 10 or so laps of the two miles Oval circuit with Alan one of the strongest. Despite making a few attacks during the race, the group was not going to let Alan get away. After 40 minutes of racing, the three laps to go board was shown. The race then got a bit cagey, coming down to a sprint for the line into a head wind. Alan was well placed coming onto the straight and waited until some 130m from the line, before sprinting to comfortably take the win.

Alan’s ambition this year was to win a national title, but to win two, with more chances yet to come, is excellent and just reward for all the hard training put in.

Many thanks to all members for their congratulations and support.
